Throw open the largest south facing window in your house. Pour a tall glass of cold water. Fill it to the brim. (There should be more water in the glass than seems possible - see how it is held there by its own skin?) Place the glass carefully on the window ledge in the afternoon. Before long you will see a perfect little cloud forming in the air above the glass, floating there, just a few centimetres above the surface of the water. It may only last a few minutes. Some have been known to linger for hours, though this is rare.
